Being pregnant comes with an increase in risk to the health of you and your unborn child. Today we look at the connection between migraines during pregnancy and how this affects you and your babys health.

Experiencing migraines while pregnant has been linked to an increase in the chance of having a stroke, according to a study in the United States. It found that you were fifteen times more likely to have a stroke compared to woman who were not pregnant.

Information was collated from over 33,000 pregnant women who were also experiencing migraines.

Age has been found to be a contributing factor, as a woman above 40 is almost two and a half times more likely to suffer from migraines during her pregnancy than a woman who is under twenty. A white woman will have more migraines than a woman of another race or ethnicity.

Migraines have also been linked to a rise in the risk of heart disease, blood clots, high blood pressure, high cholesterol and diabetes. They suggest it is possible that the migraine itself is an indication that the cardiovascular system is not working as well as it should be.

The authors suggest that the most logical explanation for the findings lies in the interaction between migraines and the normal physiological changes during pregnancy (such as increased blood volume and heart rate) which put extra stress on the vascular system.

Past research has indicated that the cells that form the inner wall of blood vessels (endothelial cells), may not operate as well in people who suffer from migraines during pregnancy.

The findings continue to solidify the belief that migraines, and especially those with an aura or visual change at the same time, are linked to women also suffering heart disease and strokes.

All women from across the globe admit to themselves that pregnancy is a difficult stage and not everyone can handle such a condition, this fact has strengthen the doubts of many curious thinkers towards the capability of a woman with OCD to be good mother, lest be pregnant.

While it can be agreed upon that parenthood is a human right, and pregnancy being one of the mechanisms by which his right is realized, still, many of these curious thinkers (many, including you) doubts if someone with a mental condition like OCD can indeed become a good mother, lest become a safe keeper or a helpless fetus inside a womb.

For them, the possibility of having the baby killed is so grave in the cause of OCD pregnancy that allowing such a condition is also similar to allowing the murder of helpless children. They use the fact that OCD sufferers perform rituals and have obsessions which might endanger the safety and health of the baby inside them out of inability to resist the obsession or the ritual. The inability of these women to make their children their first priority is enough reason for them to look at OCD women sufferers as eligible mothers.

For those pregnant OCD sufferers who have successfully resisted performing the ritual, most likely stress and anxiety will become exceedingly acute. These emotional byproducts happen because of the deliberate refusal of the sufferer to perform her rituals just because she has a baby to prioritize. These emotions, however, have always been known to be harmful to children and thus not good for a pregnant woman as well. For the curious thinkers then, whatever the case is, women with OCD will more likely only compromise the safety and health of her soon to be child.

However, by paying sufficient attention to OCD in general, although it is still incurable with the limitations of today’s technology, it can be immediately observed that a lot of treatment for OCD are already very accessible to many people. If the pregnancy is planned, then the OCD sufferer might opt for a treatment first, but if the pregnancy is already there before the treatment is over or before it starts, no great of a deal of change will happen anyway. The simple solution is, she can proceed with the treatment with all due attention and care from family members and from oneself and all should be alright.

When examine other cases, even a diabetic woman may opt to bear a child even if she knows that her child might inherent her disease, and the society does not look badly at this woman. Another example is a mentally retarded woman who becomes pregnant with direct supervision and care from an expert and her family, society even views this as an inspiring example to promote families.

As conclusion, any pregnancy should be allowed to happen and not judged according to the physical and mental disabilities of the mother but on her desire to bear and child and provide the child with the best possible life she can give.

Foods like ice cream, chips and candies contribute to much weight gain. Unfortunately, they are also not nutritious. What you eat is shared to the baby. If you prefer to consume nutritious foods, nutrients are shared with the baby. Appropriate foods are usually not fat accumulating.

To stick to your figure and health, go for the better foods. Moreover, avoid junk foods and candies or sweets. They are not healthy, but are greatly fattening. Complement good food with regular exercise. Exercise routines eliminate excess fat deposits. They also improve blood circulation. Pregnant women who exercise are healthier. They can maintain ideal weight and figure. Moreover, their pregnancy will be much easier and comfortable.

You can easily have pregnancy without having to accumulate added excessive pounds. If you consume good food and exercise, you can do so. It is not that hard as you think. Pregnant women should still carry and maintain strong will in making it happen. If they aim not to gain much weight, they certainly could do so.

Health and fitness should not be compromised during pregnancy. While it is true that there is a greater urge to eat, there should be better self control imposed. After all, overindulgence could lead to excessive weight gain, which in turn could bring about a host of many other health issues and possible fatal diseases.

There is no normal, healthy condition as stressful and dangerous as pregnancy. Many parts of a woman’s normal lifestyle can become a health risk when a woman is pregnant. Every woman should see her doctor as soon as possible when she suspects she may be pregnant and she should follow the doctor’s suggestions; maintain good nutrition and much more.

The good thing is that usually, the things a pregnant woman gives up are bad for her and the things she needs to do are good for her. Usually, women’s health and pregnancy go hand in hand.

A woman who expects to become pregnant should already be living a healthy lifestyle. Smoking is possibly the worst thing for women’s health and pregnancy. Smoking increases a woman’s risk of heart disease, lung disease and can adversely affect just about every physical system in the body. Don’t wait until you are pregnant to quit. You wouldn’t invite a stranger into a smoke-filled home, don’t do it to your child. Begin your prenatal vitamin regimen as soon as possible including folic acid and iron.

And remember, the vitamins are all the “eating for two” you need to do for quite a while. Avoid toxic substances. Even paint fumes can be harmful to women’s health and pregnancy. Don’t eat undercooked meats or clean up after your cat while pregnant. Toxoplasmosis is very dangerous to an unborn baby. Increase your hand washing, too.

Weight gain is normal during pregnancy. If you are over – or underweight normally, you may need to consult a nutritionist during your pregnancy to monitor your weight gain and diet. If morning sickness is a problem, try eating six small meals instead of three large ones. Don’t let the queasy feelings make you skip too many meals.

Medication can be a problem during pregnancy. If you have a chronic disorder that requires medication, consult your doctor as soon as possible – even before becoming pregnant if possible. Sometimes women’s health and pregnancy become a tradeoff temporarily. That goes for over the counter medications, too. Check with your doctor before taking pain killers or cold medication. Cold medication can contain alcohol which is harmful to the baby. That also means cutting out alcoholic beverages while pregnant and nursing. Consult your doctor about physical activity.

Usually, the amount and type of exercise that was normal prior to pregnancy will be safe during at least most of the pregnancy. New types of exercise should be monitored by your doctor. By taking the sensible precautions, women’s health and pregnancy can get along just fine.

Selter says that she, too, is in it for the inspiration, and her rear is just an end to that end. More established fitness accounts began reblogging her photos without credit, so she reached out to each person and site to ask that they link back to her, and the magic began to happen.
Though the @jenselter account is her main stage, @motivationforfitness now has 329,000 followers, and her Facebook fan page has 486,111 likes. Once her personal handle hit 300,000 followers, sponsorship and “shout-out” offers piled up, from companies like Nike, Lululemon and New Balance (to name three of her favorites). Though Selter declines to put exact figures on-record, she can make thousands for a simple selfie by the barbells. Her sole concern is not money, though.
